In 2026, a Liskeard child sex offender, Jason Taylor, joined a live video call, believing that a child was going to be harmed in front of him.

Additionally, Jason Taylor declared that he would drive to Kent to meet the “girl” and rape her.

On Tuesday, June 30, Taylor, 38, of Pengover Road in Liskeard, appeared at Truro Crown Court for sentencing after entering a guilty plea to several charges, including possessing and distributing indecent images of children, arranging and facilitating the commission of a child sex offence, and causing and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He was subject to a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and sentenced to five years in prison.

The court heard that Taylor had been actively interacting with an undercover online agent, according to a recommendation that Devon & Cornwall Police received on April 20, 2026.

Taylor disclosed his sexual interest in minors during the discussion.

Taylor expressed his sexual plans for the fictional youngster after the undercover agent informed him that they had access to a nine-year-old niece.

During the school holidays, Taylor offered to drive to Kent and commit the abuse himself, he told the operative.

After the defendant sent the operator pictures of child abuse, it was decided to have a video call before the meeting, during which live abuse would occur.

Taylor covered most of his face as he joined the call at the scheduled time. The “girl” was supposed to phone back after her connection was fixed.

Officers from the Devon & Cornwall Police Paedophile Online Investigation Team arrived on the scene a few minutes later. They took Taylor into custody while he was in bed in his panties.

The room seen during the video call was the same as the one where Taylor was taken into custody.
