The predator, who was only 15 years old at the time, attacked and strangled four schoolgirls over the course of a month. His identity was only disclosed today due to his recent 18th birthday, which allows him to be legally identified.
One of the beast’s survivors was throttled so severely that she lost consciousness and believed she was about to die.
He denied his crimes, but he was found guilty after a trial late last year. Despite this, he maintained his anonymity due to his age.
Ritchie only casually acknowledged that he had perpetrated the abuse after compelling the four traumatised adolescents to provide testimony.
Police officers characterised him as a “dangerous predator,” while a judge described his actions as “disturbing and grave.”
A jury at the High Court in Glasgow found Ritchie guilty of nine offences, including assault, rape, and threatening behaviour. He was subsequently incarcerated for seven years.
Ritchie assaulted the four girls in Hurlford, Crosshouse, and Kilmarnock, all of which are located in Ayrshire.
Lord Arthurson stated, “You violently choked three of the girls by placing both hands around their necks.”
“One experienced a loss of consciousness and believed that she was on the brink of death.” You made a threat to kill three of the females.
The judge stated that he had reviewed a victim impact statement submitted by a girl and that the consequences of the youth’s actions on her life were still having a “serious detrimental impact.”
