In 2022, the Offender Register reported that two black Wigan rapists who alternated in the act of raping an 18-year-old woman have been incarcerated.
Tyquante Reid, then 18 years old, and a 16-year-old boy who cannot be identified for legal reasons, “exhibited disturbing predatory behaviour” when they “targeted” the vulnerable adolescent in Wigan.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that the teenagers observed the woman, who had become separated from her friends, as she was denied entry to Popworld nightclub in Wigan due to her excessive alcohol consumption.
Reid and the adolescent subsequently “escorted” her to a flat, where they alternated in raping her.
Reid, a 17-year-old resident of Dallow Road in Luton, Bedfordshire, was incarcerated for six years and eight months.
The 16-year-old, who lacked a fixed address, was sentenced to six years and six months in prison.
Both individuals denied the charges; however, they were found guilty after a trial and sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday, November 29.
