Scott Hemingway, the Derby Paedophile, a registered sex offender, recently freed from prison, has been incarcerated for transmitting obscene messages to an undercover officer.

In February and March 2025, Scott Hemingway transmitted explicit texts to two minors whom he presumed to be 14 and 12 years old.

Scott Hemingway was unaware that he was conversing with an undercover police officer.

The 39-year-old was freed from incarceration merely four months prior, following a conviction for a comparable offence in December 2021.

Scott Hemingway was arrested in March and charged, and remanded into custody for the following:

  • Attempt to cause/incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity
  • Attempt to cause/incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity – offender 18 or over – penetration
  • Arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offence x2
  • Adult attempts to engage in sexual communication with a child x2
  • Sex offenders register – fail to comply with notification of a change
  • Breach of Sexual Harm Prevention Order

Scott Hemingway, of no fixed address, appeared at Derby Crown Court on 26 September and admitted the charges against him.

Scott Hemingway was jailed for 13 years, handed a further, indefinite SHPO, and fined.
