In 2022, Michael Higgins, the Wattisfield Paedophile, then 72, was incarcerated for the third time for obtaining illicit photos of minors.

Michael Higgins, residing on Raeburn Road, Ipswich, confessed to six charges of producing indecent photos of minors and violating a sexual harm prevention order.

In 2005, he was incarcerated for four years for 17 charges related to the creation and distribution of indecent photos of minors.

Michael Higgins was subsequently imprisoned again in 2016 for 12 months for five offences, including the creation of indecent images of children, possession of a banned image of a child, and two offences of having extreme pornography.

Recorder Graham Huston sentenced him to 16 months in prison and mandated the continuation of a sexual harm prevention order established in 2016.

Michael Higgins also mandated him to register as a sex offender.

In February of the previous year, Michael Higgins informed a public protection officer, assigned to him due to his prior convictions, that he had violated the 2016 sexual harm prevention order by erasing his browsing history and accessing “borderline” photographs.

Michael Higgins also confessed to obliterating gadgets containing lewd photographs.

Claire Hullock, representing Michael Higgins, stated that he had dedicated his life to teaching but was compelled to exit the profession due to his beliefs.

In 2005, when Michael Higgins was sentenced to four years in prison, Ipswich Crown Court revealed that he had pasted students’ faces onto downloaded pornographic images.

The court was informed that Michael Higgins, residing on The Street in Wattisfield, had exploited his position of trust as a teacher and unofficial photographer at Rosemary Musker High School in Thetford by producing almost 15,000 indecent or fake photos of 132 kids from 1999 to January 2005.
