Peter Minza was sentenced to 40 months in prison for having some of the worst evidence of child sexual abuse that police have ever seen.
In June 2025, Cleveland Police were notified that 45-year-old Peter Minza had shared pornographic photographs and talked about child sexual abuse online.
Our professional Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) went to Minza’s home location, where he was detained and put into police custody for questioning.
Numerous electronic devices were seized from his address, although Minza refused to cooperate with the police investigation and would not reveal the PINs or passwords for his devices.
Despite this, 3,579 pornographic photos of children were found on Minza’s iPhone, which our Digital Forensics Unit was able to obtain.
Of them, 1,291 were classified as category B, 631 as category C, and 1,657 as category A, the worst category. He was also found to have nine severe pornographic photographs displaying bestiality.
Minza sent 91 obscene photographs of children, including 69 category A, 18 category B, and four category C images, according to evidence found on his device. He was also found in possession of an electronic paedophile guidebook.
As the inquiry advanced, Minza was revealed to have sexually engaged with two people he believed to be a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl. He also discussed with other adults how to disseminate immoral photographs without getting caught.
Thirteen charges were brought against Minza, including two counts of trying to have sex with a child, three counts of creating an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, three counts of distributing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, one count of having an extreme pornographic image, and one count of having a paedophile manual.
He appeared at Teesside Crown Court on 27 April 2026, where he pleaded guilty to all crimes. On Friday, June 26, Minza appeared in the same court and was sentenced to 40 months in prison.
In addition, Minza will be listed on the Sex Offender’s Register and subject to a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Cleveland Police did not release his address, so no one will know where he is based… great!
