In 2019, the #OffenderRegister reported that the parents of a seven-year-old girl who was sexually abused by a family friend, Nathan Dunne, have expressed that their lives have been rendered “shattered” by his actions.
Nathan Dunne, then 28, was sentenced to four years in prison at Chester Crown Court after he admitted to sexually assaulting her before compelling her to contact his penis.
In May of last year, the court was informed that Dunne, a resident of Powell Drive in Middlewich, had arrived at a gathering at a residence in Winsford inebriated.
His partner departed, and he entered the girl’s chamber, where he proceeded to lie down on the floor. He climbed into her bed a short time later, removed her pyjamas, prevented her from leaving the room, and sexually caressed her four times.
The #SexOffender persisted in spite of her pleas to cease and her distress; he eventually removed his own shorts and twice placed her hand on his penis.
She summoned her parents, but they were unable to hear her. He advised her to maintain the confidentiality of the events that transpired prior to retiring to the floor to sleep.
The girl wept as she informed her mother that Dunne had forced her to “touch his willy” after he had departed the home the following morning. The police were informed.
Dunne had initially denied the accusations and claimed that he was unable to recall the events, despite the fact that traces of his DNA were discovered in the girl’s knickers.
Two months prior to the commencement of the scheduled trial, he entered a plea of guilty.
Dunne was also subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
