Kevin Scarnell, a Camden Paedophile, used dating and social media applications in an effort to exploit a child in Maidstone.

Investigations revealed that Kevin Scarnell was wholly determined to meet the youngster for the purpose of sexual assault.

From 28 March to 24 April 2025, Kevin Scarnell persistently communicated with a young adolescent male on a dating application.

He inundated the boy every day with sexually explicit communications, encompassing descriptions of his sexual inclinations, as well as indecent photographs and videos.

During discussions, the 59-year-old requested a meeting in a parking lot on the periphery of the town.

After a day and time were established, the perpetrator incessantly expressed his ‘excitement’ to the targeted victim and even obtained a haircut the day prior to ‘appear sharp.’

On 25 April, Kevin Scarnell journeyed from his residence on Fellows Road in Camden, London, to the designated site near Maidstone.

Proactive patrols observed his blue Ford Fiesta suspiciously circling a parking lot on West Park Road.

Kevin Scarnell was apprehended and his cell phone confiscated, unable to elucidate his presence in the vicinity.

Kevin Scarnell originally refuted any misconduct but subsequently admitted guilt to orchestrating sexual activity with a minor, participating in sexual correspondence with a minor, and compelling a minor to observe sexual activity.

On 16 October, he was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court to two years and eight months of imprisonment and was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
