In 2021, Ian Robinson, THEN a 57-year-old man formerly of Crewe, was reported to be living across from an infant school and nursery in Middlewich, Cheshire, following a sentence of over five years in 2018 for targeting children online.
Ian Robinson, formerly of Crewe, drove nearly 80 miles to Bradford while on bail in 2018 to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex after systematically grooming her in an internet chatroom and messaging app. Upon his arrival, police arrested Robinson and seized a bottle of lubricant and a blanket from his vehicle. Investigations also revealed that Robinson had previously attempted to encourage what he believed to be a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity and had sent explicit videos of himself. He had actually been communicating with another individual on a messaging app, leading to his detection by law enforcement.
The court sentenced Robinson to more than five years in prison in 2018.
Following his convictions for child sexual offences, Robinson was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and made subject to public protection notification requirements.
He also remains subject to strict notification regulations, ongoing risk assessments, and monitoring by public protection officers following his relocation.
