In 2021, Liam Robinson, a THEN 28-year-old man from Peterlee, was jailed for nine years after grooming and sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy.
Liam Robinson, of Peterlee, was sentenced at Durham Crown Court after being convicted of multiple sexual offences against a child. The court heard that Robinson targeted a 14-year-old boy online, grooming him over social media before subjecting him to sexual abuse. Following an investigation by Durham Constabulary, Robinson was arrested, charged, and subsequently brought before the court, where he was found guilty of the offences.
The judge sentenced Robinson to nine years in prison.
Following his convictions for child sexual offences, Robinson was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, licence conditions, and mandatory risk management protocols by law enforcement upon any eventual release from custody.
