Habibul Haque, the St Helens Rapist, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for numerous counts of rape and sexual offences in St Helens.

Habibul Haque, 44 years old, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, 17 October, after being convicted of the offences following a trial earlier this month.

Habibul Haque received a sentence for four counts of rape, two charges of sexual assault, assault resulting in actual bodily damage, and controlling and coercive behaviour.

The acts, which transpired over six years against a woman in her twenties in St Helens, were initially reported to us in March 2025, leading to Habibul Haque’s arrest and conviction after a thorough investigation.

In addition to a prison sentence, Habibul Haque has been permanently registered on the Sex Offenders Register and issued an indefinite restraining order.
