Nicholas Ackroyd, the Bidston Rapist, was sentenced today, Friday, October 17, for sexual offences in Wirral.
Nicholas Ackroyd, aged 54, was sentenced to six years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court after being convicted by a trial of assault by penetration and two charges of sexual assault.
He has been placed on the Sexual Offenders Register indefinitely, and a 10-year restraining order prohibits him from contacting the victim.
The court was informed that the crime occurred at a flat in Wirral in June 2023, and the victim had known Nicholas Ackroyd for two years preceding the incident.
Nicholas Ackroyd, residing at Curlender Close in Bidston, had similarly fled on the inaugural day of the trial in April, resulting in a six-month delay in proceedings.
