Donna Bentley, 53, was convicted by the Royal Court of Jersey on Friday, 31 July 2026, of two counts of procuring acts of gross indecency and one count of indecent assault following a trial. The court heard that the offences took place in the 1990s when the victim was a boy under 16 years of age and sleeping. The survivor reported the abuse to the States of Jersey Police in 2024, leading to Bentley being charged in October 2025. Lead investigator Detective Constable Elianne Jones commended the victim’s extraordinary courage in coming forward after carrying the trauma for decades.
Deputy Bailiff Mark Temple remanded Bentley into custody until 14 August 2026, when a formal sentencing date will be established.
Following her convictions for historic child sexual abuse, Bentley faces substantial statutory public protection measures.
She also remains subject to strict remand conditions, notification requirements, and ongoing risk assessments by law enforcement until her final sentence is imposed.
