After being found guilty of “extreme sexual and physical violence” against three women, Darren Oxley, a vicious rapist will serve the next thirty years in prison.

Between 1988 and 2002, Darren Oxley committed horrifying crimes while he was in relationships with these ladies.

In addition to continuously raping and sexually torturing the ladies, he pushed one of them down the stairs and forced his knee into her face, breaking it in several places, leaving her with a broken jaw.

In addition, Oxley shoved the woman’s head into a fish tank, shattering her eye socket, then punched her, shattering her jaw once more.

Another time, he pushed a woman’s head into a microwave and slammed the door on her face, shattering her nose. As she attempted to flee, he hurled a screwdriver at her, leaving her with an open lower back wound.

He headbutted another woman in the face, knocked out her front teeth, and hurt her hand by pushing it into a top-loading washing machine that was full of boiling water.

When one of the women courageously called the police in 2023 and reported what had happened, Oxley’s offence was discovered.

Detective Constable Amie Thornton and Investigative Officer Heidi Weir from the Darlington Safeguarding Team spearheaded the Durham Constabulary’s inquiry.

They discovered via their investigations that Oxley had also abused two other women.

Six counts of rape, three counts of indecent assault, two instances of illegal wounding, and nine counts of assault inflicting actual bodily harm were among the twenty charges brought against the 53-year-old Darlington resident.

After an 11-day trial at Durham Crown Court in March, Oxley was found guilty by a jury despite denying the charges.

Last Thursday, June 18, he appeared in court again and was sentenced to 30 years in prison and a lifetime placement on the sex offenders‘ register.
