Damian Watson, a Liscard sex offender who abducted a woman while pretending to be a taxi driver and made her undress as he recorded her, has been imprisoned.

Damian Watson, 36, of School Close, in Liscard, was driving his white Mercedes van when he picked up the woman in the Anfield district of Liverpool in April this year.

She used her phone to get an Uber taxi after spending the evening out. She thought Watson was the Uber driver and got into the vehicle, which drove off.

The victim discovered the vehicle had pulled over in an unfamiliar alleyway while travelling.

Watson said, “We’re in Bootle now, love,” in response to her question about their location. He resumed driving and came to a stop in a different alley.

Then he turned to face the woman and angrily ordered that she take off her top.

Fearful, the woman thought she had no choice but to follow his instructions. Watson refused to let her out of the car despite her repeated requests.

Watson panicked and started driving again after the woman feigned a hyperventilating attack. After making a silent 999 call, the victim called her partner.

In Liverpool’s downtown, Watson finally released the woman from the vehicle.

After tracking the location of the unanswered 999 call, police located Watson at his residence.

They discovered his phone and another gadget that revealed he had recorded himself in the car and had a camera mounted on the centre console facing the passenger seat.

When he had the victim in his car, he had recorded her.

He was detained, and the Crown Prosecution Service authorised the police to charge him with kidnapping, voyeurism, false imprisonment and causing a person to participate in sexual conduct against their will.

He first rejected the charges, but at a pre-trial hearing on 29 May 2026, he entered guilty pleas to kidnapping and causing a person to engage in sexual conduct against their will.

He was given a five-year, six-month prison sentence at Liverpool Crown Court today, June 26, 2026. The judge ordered that Watson’s phones should be seized and destroyed.
