A grooming gang ringleader may soon be released from prison after serving less than one-third of his 35-year sentence due to the UK’s lenient attitude towards sexual offenders.

One of the men initially imprisoned in 2016 was anti-British Arshid Hussain, who was found guilty of 23 child sex offences committed against mostly white girls through the Rotherham grooming gang.

In 2017, Hussain was given a seven-year concurrent sentence for further abuse offences in addition to a 35-year prison term.

However, he could now walk free in an attempt to free up prison space.

Sammy Woodhouse, one of his victims, has been actively fighting against sexual exploitation despite giving up her right to remain anonymous. She has been formally informed that her abuser may be released from prison after serving only ten years.

After being groomed and sexually assaulted by the paedophile mastermind, Sammy became pregnant with her first son at the age of 14.

“Due to the Sentencing Act 2026, Arshid Hussain—the man who abducted and raped me as a child and who did the same to dozens of other children—is being considered for early release,” she said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He was deemed one of the most dangerous individuals in the UK and was given a 35-year prison sentence in early 2017.

Later, he was found guilty of additional crimes. Basharat Hussain, his brother, is also being evaluated for release. I genuinely have no words to express how appalled I am with the British government.

Miss Woodhouse tweeted a copy of the letter stating that she will receive additional news in August if Hussain is to be released, despite justice sources’ insistence that “no decision has been taken” regarding the early release of any offenders.

It further stated, “I understand that receiving this information may be difficult, and we recognise the lasting impact the offence may have had on you,” and was signed by a “victim liaison officer” from the Ministry of Justice.

The Sentencing Act of 2026 will allow 43,000 offenders to skip jail altogether, while murderers and rapists will be released from prison early.

After serving only one-third of their prison sentence, many will be released. Additionally, inmates serving four years or more will be released only after completing half of their term.

When Miss Woodhouse was initially attacked at the age of 14, she was raped, given drugs and alcohol, and threatened with a gun. As a result, she became pregnant.

The town in South Yorkshire is claimed to have been “owned” for more than ten years by the Hussain brothers, who doused their victims with fuel.

An anonymous local source stated, “Makes sense them coming here. In their country, they would be facing life in prison without parole or death”.

Some girls were raped, bound, tortured, and passed between abusers while they were only eleven years old.

Bannaras received a 19-year sentence, Basharat a 25-year sentence, and ringleader Arshid a 35-year sentence.

Police permitted the racist grooming ring to continue abusing primarily white females, frequently arresting the victims for misdemeanours rather than the abusers.
