A MOD police officer, Paedophile Andrew Rayson, derived sexual gratification by recording adolescent females and youngsters in the changing rooms of a leisure centre in Hampshire.

Andrew Rayson, 32, observed women and children swimming and subsequently followed them to changing rooms, where he utilised his cell phone to record them.

In an adjacent cubicle, either by a hole in the wall or by extending his arm over the top, he would ensnare his unsuspecting victims, as presented before Southampton Crown Court.

Prosecutor Tim Dracass stated that Andrew Rayson engaged in his deviant conduct for over three years until January, when he visited Romsey Rapids.

A 16-year-old girl had just removed her bikini and was drying her hair when she looked up and was astonished to see an arm and a bald head emerge above the wall.

She thereafter heard two clicking sounds and informed her boyfriend about the occurrence.

Andrew Rayson was confronted by the manager in the reception area following the review of CCTV footage, although he declined to provide any content on his phone.

Andrew Rayson departed, but his registration number was recorded and identified as belonging to a vehicle leased to the MoD Police’s divisional support section in Gosport. It was recorded as logged out to Rayson that day.

Andrew Rayson informed his colleague, another police officer, that he had accidentally run over his cell phone and subsequently obtained a replacement.

The court was informed that she subsequently assisted the police in recovering the phone, but its SIM card had been relocated to a different device.

Additionally, computer equipment was confiscated during a search of Andrew Rayson’s residence, when law enforcement discovered other illicit photos of individuals he had targeted, who were oblivious to being recorded.

Mr. Dracass stated that certain footage lasted a few seconds, while others extended up to a minute.

The adolescent female expressed in an impact statement that she felt distressed, humiliated, and ill due to the experience, which had disrupted her sleep.

His status as a police officer had elicited her apprehension.

Andrew Rayson acknowledged ten counts of voyeurism and requested that 20 analogous offences be taken into account, including five girls under the age of 18, including one as young as ten.

Andrew Rayson was incarcerated for 20 weeks, registered as a sex offender for seven years, and prohibited from employment involving minors.

Andy Houston, in defence, stated: He has lost everything—his employment, his friends, his partner, and his residence. He has not communicated with or received any correspondence from his partner and has returned to be with his family in Nottingham.

He need assistance and seeks participation in the sex offender group program, which is the most effective method to safeguard the public from such activity.

However, in delivering the sentence, Judge Jeremy Burford QC stated that only a prison sentence would be warranted, as a community order would be inadequate.
