A South Wales Police officer, Paedophile Kevin Williams from Taffs Well, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for multiple sexual assaults on a youngster. Police Constable Kevin Williams, 50, from Taffs Well, near Cardiff, conducted school visits as a component of his duties.
However, a court revealed that it was only after his retirement that fellow officers in South Wales Police uncovered his seven-year tenure of abuse.
Kevin Williams sexually assaulted and coerced a 15-year-old girl into dressing for pornographic photographs, threatening her against disclosing the incident to anybody.
Cardiff Crown Court was informed that he remarked to the girl, “Who would believe you?” I am law enforcement.
“In addition to being a reprehensible abuser, you evidently are a paedophile,” stated Judge Jonathan Durham Hall.
The woman, now 30 years old, testified in court that Kevin Williams compelled her to attire herself for explicit images.
She testified years later, following counselling.
Kevin Williams, who concluded his 16-year tenure with South Wales Police in 2001, was found guilty of indecent assault, rape, a grave sexual offence, and the creation of indecent images.
The court was informed that he was an avid photographer who captured images of nude models.
Photographs he had captured were found in Williams’ vehicle by mechanics during its servicing.
A couple who purchased a house from him discovered further photographs of a partially unclad woman concealed beneath the carpet.
Kevin Williams transformed the garage of the residence into a darkroom for processing his own images.
Upon interrogation, Kevin Williams acknowledged capturing nude photographs of women, asserting, “I perceive no issue provided they are of legal age and consenting.”
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC stated: “On the surface, you appeared to be an exemplary police officer; however, the public was unaware of your systematic abuse of this girl.”
These accusations exemplify your reprehensible and abhorrent behaviour. In addition to being a reprehensible abuser, you evidently exhibit paedophilic tendencies.
You intimidated your victim by asserting that no one would believe her, and ultimately stated, “Whom can you report to?” Am I the police?
The judge sentenced Kevin Williams to 12 years in prison, mandated his registration as a sex offender, and prohibited him from employment around children.
