Alan Davies, formerly of Gravesend, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 31 July 2026, after pleading guilty to 73 separate crimes. The court heard that Davies hid secret cameras where victims were likely to undress, with Kent Police identifying 39 victims, including 21 children. His offending came to light in December 2024 when a victim reported she had been repeatedly raped and abused by him as a child. Officers seized his electronic devices, discovering hundreds of secretly recorded videos dating back to 2004, a video of him installing a hidden camera, around 900 child abuse images, and evidence of sharing recordings online. Subsequent enquiries led to three additional victims confirming past sexual assaults by Davies.
The judge handed Davies a 21-year prison sentence, ordering that he serve at least two-thirds in custody before becoming eligible for parole, with an additional seven years on licence upon release.
Following his convictions for rape and child sexual offences, Davies was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, lifetime licence conditions, and mandatory risk management protocols by law enforcement upon any eventual release from custody.
