In 2022, Abdiraxman Abdellahi, the Leicester Rapist, was sentenced to an additional 12 months in prison after acknowledging attempts to sway a witness.

In December 2021, Abdiraxman Abdellahi was characterised as “violent and manipulative” upon receiving an 18-year sentence.

Leicester Crown Court was informed that he contacted his mother while in custody and requested her to get a woman to retract her statement.

Abdiraxman Abdellahi, residing on Brogue Street, confessed to attempting to obstruct justice and received a 12-month prison sentence.

The time will be served consecutively to his sentence for rape.

The court received evidence that 25 calls were made from two phones daily in March 2021.

Abdiraxman Abdellahi, then 24, called his mother from prison and requested that she reach out to the witness.

However, as she could not speak English, a third party conducted the actual calls, the court was informed.

In one instance, a female interrogates the witness’s account of events, asserting her knowledge of the witness’s residence.

Fatima Bashir, then 45, Abdiraxman Abdellahi’s mother and resident of Brogue Street, acknowledged the identical accusation and received a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Even though Fatima Bashir knew about her son’s deviant ways and covered for him multiple times during his rape career, she faced no punishment.
