In 2026, the Offender Register reported that Paul Sharpe, a convicted PAEDOPHILE murderer, who sexually assaulted a girl and abducted her at knifepoint, had entered a plea of guilty.
At Minshull Street Crown Court today, Paul Sharpe, 56, entered a guilty plea to six offences, which included making threats with a blade, sexual assault, and kidnapping.
Sharpe subjected the girl to a prolonged ordeal in which he bound her and sexually assaulted her.
The incident was not concluded for eight hours, when the police arrived and apprehended Sharpe.
On Bradgate Road in Altrincham, Paul Sharpe abducted a 15-year-old girl at knifepoint, securing her in a headlock and compelling her into his vehicle at approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 18, 2026.
He informed her that her father owed him money, then proceeded to the airport car park. At that point, he secured her ankles and wrists with a ligature.
Sharpe sexually assaulted her, coerced her into consuming alcohol, and navigated various parking lots.
The girl’s mother reported her missing, prompting the police to conduct a comprehensive CCTV investigation. Sharpe’s vehicle was identified as a result of these enquiries, and he was apprehended in a hotel parking lot in Knutsford at approximately 3:40 a.m. the following day.
The Crown Prosecution Service collaborated with Greater Manchester Police to build a compelling case that included CCTV and phone evidence.
Sharpe stated in an interview that he had been experiencing distress and therefore abducted the girl in the belief that it would be simpler than abducting an adult.
He stated that he was not thinking clearly and that he intended to release her when it was light and then take his own life. He denied that his motivations were sexual, but he acknowledged that the scent of her feet stimulated him.
Paul Sharpe hails from Portwood, Stockport, and was born on April 15, 1970. He entered a plea of guilty to the following charges: kidnapping, sexual assault, threatening another with a bladed article, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and administering a noxious substance with the intention of injuring, aggrieving, or annoying. Sharpe will be sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court on September 4, 2026.
