A 34-year-old man, Nathan Giles Wrington paedophile, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for perpetrating brutal assaults and sexually violating two women in horrifying incidents.

Nathan Giles, a resident of Wrington, was convicted in December of last year for committing nine offences against two victims. The charges encompassed four instances of rape, one example of attempted rape, and two cases of controlling/coercive behaviour.

In addition, he was convicted of one charge of assault and one charge of sexual assault.

On Friday, 14 July, he received a life sentence at Bristol Crown Court and will be imprisoned for a minimum of 17 years and four months before he becomes eligible for parole.

In addition, Nathan Giles was mandated to register as a sex offender permanently.

One victim expressed in a personal statement that Nathan Giles had caused irreparable harm to their lives… I have a profound sense of devastation within me, as if a fragment of my being has been irreparably shattered, leaving no possibility of its restoration.

“No sentence imposed on Nathan Giles will ever adequately justify the harm he has caused me.” I am undertaking this endeavour on behalf of all women to spare others from experiencing anguish, restless nights, and perpetual anxiety.

“I have taken this action because I believe it signifies the conclusion of my previous phase and the commencement of a new chapter in my life.”

The second victim expressed feeling a combination of fear, confusion, and embarrassment after the experience. She resorted to seeking refuge in stores to avoid encountering others resembling Giles.

The victim’s avoidance of specific areas, particularly those that evoke ‘traumatic recollections’, has been a direct consequence of the experiences.

DS Darren Weston, the investigating officer, commended the victims for their courage in reporting the incident to the police, demonstrating their strong character and steadfast confidence in the criminal justice system.

“These two individuals were subjected to abhorrent offences perpetrated by a perilous individual who has not acknowledged his deeds.”

“Undoubtedly, their actions have safeguarded the community from Nathan Giles’ predatory and repugnant conduct.”

“I anticipate that this will inspire other individuals who have experienced similar offences to gather the courage to approach the authorities and file a report, with the assurance that we will exert all efforts to ensure justice is served for the victims.”
