In 2021, the proprietor of Queen Ethelburga’s School, located near York, was sentenced to three years and three months in prison for the sexual assault of a boy and a girl.
Following a retrial for a sexual assault on a boy in the late 2000s that was initially presented to a jury in 2018, Brian Richard Martin, then aged 71, of Ferrensby, Knaresborough, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court today (Friday, July 2, 2021).
Martin was also convicted of indecent assault on a girl in the early to mid-1990s during a subsequent retrial in 2019.
In 2018, he was acquitted of six additional child sexual abuse offences during the initial trial.
Martin has been inducted into the Sex Offenders’ Register.
