On January 12, 2026, the Offender Database reported that David Masters, then 46, of Brookroyd Lane, Birstall, West Yorkshire, was sentenced to 11 years in prison at Bradford Crown Court. David Masters was the subject of a complex investigation by the Bradford District Children Vulnerable to Exploitation Team, which began in 2024 following a report of a missing 16-year-old girl. The inquiry uncovered a vile and systematic pattern of exploitation involving multiple victims whom Masters targeted and manipulated for his own sickening personal gain.

The court heard that David Masters was found guilty of sexual activity with a child, facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child, and two counts of inciting sexual exploitation. He had previously admitted to eleven counts relating to the making and distribution of indecent images of children. One victim, who was just 15 at the time of the horrific offences, provided a disturbing statement describing how the “colour has gone” from her life, leaving her feeling directionless and trapped by the profound trauma inflicted by Masters.

Another victim, who was 17 during the vile abuse, explained that she felt her life had become a “trap” she could not escape, fearing she could never become the person she wanted to be. PC Helena Stroud, of the specialist exploitation team, described David Masters as a dangerous individual. The prosecution detailed how the investigation was triggered when officers linked the missing child to Master’s address in Birstall, West Yorkshire, eventually identifying several other children who had been subjected to his predatory behaviour.

As a result of his convictions for these horrendous sexual crimes, David Masters was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life. He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and granted indefinite restraining orders to protect his victims. He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by West Yorkshire Police, remaining under intensive supervision for the duration of his life. Any attempt to contact his victims or any breach of his strict registration requirements in Birstall, Batley, or elsewhere will result in his immediate arrest and return to prison.
