In 2007, the Offender Database reported that Jack Foster, 19, of Lottbridge Drive, Eastbourne, was sentenced at Hove Crown Court.

Jack Foster was ordered to spend a minimum of four years in prison under an indeterminate sentence for the brutal rape of a 16-year-old schoolgirl. The court heard that Jack Foster, a registered sex offender, targeted his victim on a train from Eastbourne just 11 days after being released from custody on an electronic tag.

Jack Foster led the terrified girl to a deserted footpath and raped her in a field, later telling her, “Never get off a train with a stranger.” Judge Cedric Joseph described Jack Foster as a dangerous sexual predator with a long history of deviant behaviour. He banned him for life from talking to any female passenger on any train or at any station in England and Wales.
