The Offender Database has reported that Luke Jarrett, a Wisbech Paedophile and Child Molester, who drove into oncoming traffic on the morning of his initial court hearing, has been sentenced to over three years in prison.

At approximately 9 am on 22 September, officers observed Luke Jarrett, 26, operating a green Jeep Cherokee on the A47, travelling from Thorney Toll towards Wisbech.

Concerns for his welfare were expressed that morning as he was scheduled to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court to address accusations, including unlawful photos of minors.

Luke Jarrett approached the South Brink roundabout, merged onto the A47, and, failing to halt, accelerated forcefully, positioning himself in the centre of the roadway.

He attained a velocity of 64 mph in a 50 mph zone and dangerously overtook vehicles by encroaching upon the trajectory of approaching traffic.

As Luke Jarrett neared the Elme Hall roundabout, he manoeuvred into the trajectory of a police vehicle to prevent it from overtaking; nevertheless, the officers executed a tactical intervention with the Jeep to halt its progress.

Luke Jarrett was on bail after being accused of charges related to illegal photos of minors, following an inquiry that commenced in July 2024, after his upload of an obscene photograph of a child on the internet.

Upon his arrest in September 2024, officers confiscated his electronic gadgets and discovered:

703 indecent images of children and 771 videos
638 extreme pornographic images
288 indecent photographs of a child that had been distributed

On Wednesday (5 November), at Peterborough Crown Court, Luke Jarrett, of Lords Lane, Wisbech, was jailed for three years and four months, having pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and one count of distributing an indecent image of a child.

He also admitted three counts of making an indecent image of a child, two further counts of distributing an indecent photograph of a child and possessing an extreme pornographic image, all for which he received no separate penalty.

Luke Jarrett was also handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register and banned from driving for five years and four months.
