In 2022, Marcus Pressley, the Wells Paedophile, a child rapist, was incarcerated following his victim’s testimony in court, wherein she stated he had “destroyed” her.
At the age of 18, Marcus Pressley compelled a seven-year-old girl to engage in sexual intercourse.
She was so apprehensive of his outbursts that she complied with Marcus Pressley’s directive to remain silent, finally disclosing the truth seven years later.
The activities of Marcus Pressley, now 29 and previously of Wells, have resulted in his victim experiencing flashbacks and a fear of unfamiliar men.
She wrote: “Keeping the secret destroyed me as I grew older, and I felt terrified.
“It broke me mentally. I was completely torn up inside. I felt hopeless, lost, numb and scared.
“He took advantage of me because I was very young and trusting.”
Marcus Pressley, currently residing in Oakham, near Leicester, refuted two charges of rape, assault by penetration, and compelling a child to observe a sexual act; but, he was convicted by a jury at Taunton Crown Court earlier this month.
He received a ten-year sentence at Exeter Crown Court from Judge Timothy Rose, who mandated his registration on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order prohibiting any interaction with minor girls.
The judge stated: “You experience conditions such as Tourette’s and ADHD; however, I cannot associate them with the heinous events of the day you perpetrated these offences.”
“You were sufficiently mature to comprehend your actions and to exercise self-control.”
“The victim was a seven-year-old girl, a very young child.” She does not know about sexual matters.
You exploited her in an abhorrent manner, resulting in incalculable harm.
“The occurrences of that day have tarnished her life and resulted in significant difficulties.”
Nikki Coombe, prosecuting, said the assaults happened on the same occasion in about 2011 when Marcus Pressley approached the girl, who was playing on her iPad.
He used the device to access pornography on the internet and suggested they try it.
When she refused, he sexually assaulted her. She complied because he had a violent temper and threatened to hurt her if she told anyone.
She lived with the secret until she was 14, when her flashbacks and traumatic memories became so intrusive that she told schoolfriends and her parents, who notified the police.
Kate Roxburgh, defending, said Marcus Pressley was only 18 at the time and suffered from ADHD, Tourette’s and Asperger’s Syndrome, which left him isolated.
