In 2022, Petar Hristov, the Castleford Paedophile, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempting to orchestrate a meeting to exploit youngsters sexually.

According to a statement from West Yorkshire Police, Petar Hristov engaged with a woman online and thereafter showed significant and troubling sexual interest in very young children.

Petar Hristov thought he was communicating with a mother who could facilitate access to small children. Still, he was actually conversing with officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit.

Leeds Crown Court was informed that he solicited the woman to perpetrate sexual assault against children and thereafter arranged a meeting with the intention of sexually abusing the children himself.

Petar Hristov was convicted of deliberately causing or instigating the sexual exploitation of a child under 13 during a clandestine investigation at Leeds Crown Court.

In February, he was apprehended by the Online Investigations Team of West Yorkshire Police, and a search of his equipment subsequently disclosed that he possessed an obscene moving image of a child.

In addition to the 14-year term, Petar Hristov received a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
