In 2022, Adam Howard, the Oldham Rapist, a man who concealed himself in the residence of his victim before assaulting and raping her, received a sentence of 16 years.
Adam Howard, 29, of Shaw Road, Oldham, was sentenced this week to 12 years in prison and an additional four years on licence after being convicted of two charges of rape.
The woman awoke the subsequent day, adorned with contusions, and was subsequently treated in a hospital for her injuries, which included sexual assault.
The woman reported the sexual assault the next day, and Adam Howard was later interrogated, during which he denied any misconduct.
Detective Constable Kate Dawson, of GMP Oldham’s Criminal Investigation Department, stated: “The victim was not only sexually assaulted but also physically assaulted, resulting in bruising.”
“The consequences of Adam Howard’s predatory and malevolent actions will be a burden she must endure for the remainder of her life.”
“Although justice may have been administered, today’s sentence will regrettably not alleviate the suffering he inflicted upon her.”
“We strongly encourage any survivor of sexual abuse to contact us to ensure that their reports are investigated to prosecute the offenders.”
