Dennis Kiwia, the Widnes Rapist, who returned home with a woman after a night out and subsequently raped her, has been sentenced to imprisonment.
Dennis Kiwia was sentenced to four years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, 29 September.
The jail term was imposed after Dennis Kiwia was convicted of raping a lady over 16 at the end of a five-day trial on Friday, August 15, 2025.
The court was informed that on Saturday, December 23, 2023, the victim, a 19-year-old female, was enjoying a Christmas outing with friends in Widnes. The party had been consuming alcohol at a pub in the town centre, with the victims’ companions subsequently departing for the night, leaving her seated alone as the establishment commenced closing procedures.
Nonetheless, Dennis Kiwia was present on the premises alongside her.
CCTV evidence from the night of the incident depicted the 39-year-old summoning the victim to join him. After she complied, they engaged in a discussion, during which Dennis Kiwia took ‘selfie’ images with her on his phone before departing the establishment.
The subsequent film depicts the victim exhibiting unsteadiness while rising to exit the venue, with Dennis Kiwia observed walking arm-in-arm with her as they traversed the external parking area towards his vehicle.
The victim subsequently informed the police that she awoke on Christmas Eve morning in Dennis Kiwia’s residence in the Albert Road vicinity of Widnes, unclothed and uncertain of how she arrived there.
Promptly departing from Dennis Kiwia’s residence, she returned home to discuss with a parent her belief that she had been raped, as she felt incapable of consenting to any sexual intercourse.
The incident was subsequently reported to Cheshire Police, leading to Dennis Kiwia’s swift arrest by CID officers and subsequent incarceration.
In the interrogation, he informed the investigating authorities that he had consumed alcohol at the same location as the victim and had conversed with her on the night in question. He stated that he assisted her into his automobile after the venue closed and gave her a ride home, but asserted that she requested to be taken to his residence instead.
Dennis Kiwia subsequently informed the authorities that the couple had in consensual intercourse before dozing off in the early morning. The victim eventually awoke that day and opted to return home independently, despite his repeated offers to escort her himself.
Notwithstanding his assertions, Dennis Kiwia was later indicted.
Throughout the investigation, we would assert his innocence.
Detective Constable Gemma Nicolson, from CID Reactive North, stated:
Dennis Kiwia’s refusal to accept responsibility for his crimes not only delayed the administration of justice but also compelled the victim to endure the entire agony anew at his following five-day trial.
Dennis Kiwia asserted his innocence in this case, despite having exploited a defenceless young woman about 20 years his junior, who was merely enjoying the Christmas celebrations with her companions, for his own gratification.
“We regard all allegations of rape and sexual assault with the highest seriousness, prioritising the victim’s needs at the core of our investigations, and ensuring they receive support throughout all stages of enquiries and subsequent court proceedings.”
