Back in 2022, John Stuart Jones, the Ruthin Paedophile, who shared sexual photographs with a vulnerable twelve-year-old girl and two boys, was sentenced to eight years in prison after Twitter notified the authorities about his activities.
John Stuart Jones, 49, from Ruthin, possessed no prior convictions.
However, Judge Nicola Saffman at Caernarfon Crown Court stated that police uncovered his sexual communications with the twelve-year-old girl.
The judge stated that you reprehensibly participated in groups and disseminated her information, revealing her address and exposing her name.
John Stuart Jones had exchanged photographs of the victim with another online deviant. Judge Saffman noted that his behaviour had been excessively relentless and involved grooming.
The defendant is required to register as a sex offender indefinitely, and a sexual harm prevention order has also been issued.
John Stuart Jones pleaded guilty to a series of charges, including the distribution of child pornography in the most severe category and inducing a child to participate in sexual behaviour.
Prosecuting barrister Simon Rogers said that, in May 2020, North Wales Police had been alerted by Twitter about his illegal online behaviour. Then there was a further referral by Twitter, and it was discovered that John Stuart Jones had previously been messaging a girl, who was traced by the police.
Mr Rogers said the girl had assumed John Stuart Jones was the same age, but she had been scared when he contacted her. Jones had placed her in group chats. There were numerous examples of the victim displaying her vulnerability within the messages, counsel said.
Mr Rogers added that the defendant had also exchanged lewd images with a US boy and one who said he was from the Philippines.
Defence barrister Simon Killeen said John Stuart Jones started on a dark path eight years ago. He wanted help.
