In 2021, Alexander Allport, a then-37-year-old man from Halifax, was jailed for four years and four months after pleading guilty to making and distributing hundreds of indecent images and videos of children.
Alexander Allport, of Canterbury Crescent, Halifax, appeared at Bradford Crown Court via video link from HMP Leeds for sentencing after admitting multiple counts of making and distributing indecent images of children. The court heard that West Yorkshire Police officers first raided Allport’s home in May 2017, seizing devices containing hundreds of Category A, B, and C images and movies—including material depicting the rape of babies—which he shared with 18 other users in an online chatroom. Despite being released under investigation, police raided his address again in February 2021 and May 2021, finding hundreds more illegal images, prohibited cartoon material, and evidence that he was chatting online to children and other offenders.
Judge Jonathan Rose described Allport’s actions as a “relentless pursuit of paedophilic images” and sentenced him to a total of four years and four months in prison. The judge also made Allport subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Following his convictions for child sexual abuse material offences, Allport was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, licence conditions, and long-term risk management by law enforcement upon any eventual release from prison.
