In 2021, Terrence Simmons, a then-72-year-old man from Gloucester, was jailed for 25 years after being convicted of 15 sexual offences, including the multiple rapes of two children.
Terrence Simmons, of Westgate Street, Gloucester, was sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court after being found guilty of multiple counts of rape of a child, sexual assault of a child under 13, assault by penetration of a child under 13, indecent assault of a child, taking and possessing indecent images of a child, and possessing extreme pornographic images. The court heard that Simmons enticed young children into his flat using pet animals and tropical fish and systematically befriended their parents to gain access to the victims. The children bravely gave evidence during the trial, leading to their conviction across all 15 counts.
The judge sentenced Simmons to a total of 25 years in prison.
Following his convictions for child sexual offences and rape, Simmons was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, lifetime licence supervision, and long-term risk management by law enforcement upon any eventual release from custody.
