The Luffenham Paedophile, Jacques Nel, convicted of engaging in sexual acts with two minors has been sentenced to nine years in prison. Jacques Nel, previously residing on Chapel Lane in Luffenham, Oakham, entered a guilty plea to several sexual offences, including engaging in sexual activity with a minor and sexual assault, in December of last year.

The 39-year-old, Jacques Nel, perpetrated the offences in Stamford in July, prior to being apprehended and charged by Lincolnshire Police.

Jacques Nel was scheduled to appear in court for a week-long trial before admitting guilt to the offences soon prior to its commencement.

Jacques Nel was sentenced to nine years in prison, issued a sexual harm prevention order, and granted a restraining order. He is required to remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Detective Sergeant Stewart Humm, who spearheaded the investigation, honoured the young victims central to this case.

He asserts that Jacques Nel’s conduct was intolerable and will not be permitted in Lincolnshire.

“I am happy to see Jacques Nel behind bars for the crimes he committed,” he said.

“His actions were despicable and completely unacceptable. Lincolnshire Police did everything in it’s power to secure his conviction and I’d like to thank those who worked hard on this case.

“These crimes will have a long-lasting impact on the victims involved, their families and the wider community.

“But we hope this result will, in some small part, give those impacted by Jacques Nel some sense of closure and relief – though we know the road ahead will be a long one.

“I’d like to pay tribute to the victims involved in this case and their family and friends for their courage and bravery throughout the investigation. Their dignity is unquestionable.”
