Authorities in Swindon commend a 14-year-old girl for her courage in aiding the prosecution of a sex offender, Kevin Wolton Redhouse Paedophile.
Kevin Wolton, 42, of Doulton Close, Redhouse, has previously refuted allegations of sexually assaulting the adolescent, who expressed her willingness to provide a statement to law enforcement and testify as a witness despite her trauma.
On January 20th, at Swindon Crown Court, he received a 29-month prison term after altering his plea to guilty and acknowledging two violations of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which prohibited unsupervised contact with females under eighteen or solitary women.
On September 3 of the previous year, Kevin Wolton accosted the girl in Brook Park, Redhouse, made lascivious and indecent remarks, and subsequently seized her in an attempt to kiss her.
The incident was communicated to patrolling officers, resulting in Kevin Wolton’s arrest on suspicion of sexual assault.
Police Constable Dominic Tonge from the Swindon North, East and Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team stated: “The victim exhibited remarkable bravery throughout this case and was resolute in ensuring that he faced consequences for his actions to safeguard other girls in the future.”
“Her calm resolution to continue to seek justice despite her young age was impressive.
“SHPOs are put in place by the court to protect the public from sexual harm, with conditions to assist us in manging them.
“We will continue to manage these orders robustly and ensure those who break them are brought before the courts.”
The NPT has requested changes to Kevin Wolton’s Sexual Harm Prevention Order when he is released from prison so he cannot be within 100 meters of any child’s play park, not to attend or be within 100 meters of any school or college, and not to attend Redhouse Village Centre.
