Russell Bond, aged 41, of Walsall, West Midlands, has been convicted at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to possessing indecent images of children.

The court heard that Bond, a former headteacher at a school located in the West Midlands, was arrested by police officers at his residential property on 22 October. Following the execution of the arrest warrant, digital forensic investigators examined computer hardware and electronic media seized from the address, confirming the presence of prohibited material depicting children.

West Midlands Police brought a formal charge against Bond following the completion of forensic examinations. Appearing before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 6 August 2026, Bond entered a formal guilty plea to one charge of possessing indecent images of children.

Following his conviction, Bond was placed on the sex offenders register and made subject to close statutory monitoring by relevant authorities.

The court adjourned proceedings to a later date for the preparation of pre-sentence reports, with Bond due to return to court for formal sentencing.
