In 2021, Thomas Daly, then 28 years old, of The Mile, Pocklington, East Yorkshire, was sentenced at Hull Crown Court to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.
The court heard details of an investigation launched by Humberside Police in September 2020 after receiving intelligence about illicit downloads at an address in East Yorkshire. Officers executed a search warrant at Daly’s property on The Mile in Pocklington, seizing a mobile phone and a games console. Forensic analysis of the devices uncovered 209 Category A images, 77 Category B images, and 568 Category C images, along with one Category A video and two Category C videos.
During police interviews, Daly admitted downloading the media because he found the children attractive, openly confirming a sexual interest in children. Daly had previously been convicted of a similar offence in 2017, and his new offending breached an active Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) shortly after his previous community order expired.
At Hull Crown Court, the judge sentenced Thomas Daly from Pocklington to concurrent prison terms of 16 months for Category A material, 12 months for Category B, and eight months for Category C. In addition to his custodial sentence, Daly was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and was made subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
