In 2021, Simon Dickinson, a then 44-year-old man from West Derby, was jailed following a police investigation into the online distribution of illicit digital material.

Simon Dickinson, of Dwerryhouse Lane, West Derby, was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court to two years and six months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including making, possessing, and distributing prohibited digital media.

Officers traced an IP address to his home following intelligence regarding illegal content uploaded to social media. A search of his property uncovered extensive prohibited files shared across digital messaging platforms.

In addition to his custodial sentence, Dickinson was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for the same period.
