In 2022, Seya Mohammed, the Basildon Paedophile, then 19, of Clayburn Circle, was convicted of two grave sexual offences, including rape, after a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
His conviction and imprisonment culminated in a comprehensive inquiry conducted by our Child Abuse Investigation Team, which identified Seya Mohammed as the primary suspect through his phone data.
Seya Mohammed was apprehended on 28 November of the previous year following a report from a 15-year-old girl who stated that she had been raped while returning home from school in Harlow two months earlier.
Seya Mohammed had consistently stalked the woman, ultimately getting her to a remote location where he perpetrated a severe sexual assault.
Subsequent to his apprehension, Seya Mohammed’s mobile device was confiscated, revealing messages that demonstrated his participation.
Seya Mohammed was indicted for the rape of a female under 16 and for sexual assault on a girl aged 13 or older.
On 16 September, he was present at Chelmsford Crown Court, where he was sentenced to six years in a Young Offenders Institute.
Seya Mohammed will serve an additional three years on an extended licence.
Seya Mohammed was issued a restraining order and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
He is out now, looking for a new child to rape.
