In 2021, the Offender Register confirmed that a 13-month campaign of abuse against a very young child had resulted in the incarceration of a paedophile from North Yorkshire who is described as “predatory and manipulative.”
Ricky Andrew Clench denied committing a series of child sex offences, including the rape of a child under the age of 13.
During his trial at Teesside Crown Court, the jury found the 41-year-old guilty of all three charges.
Clench’s abuse began in August 2017 while he resided in the Northallerton area and persisted until September 2018, when the victim courageously disclosed his offences to the authorities.
Clench denied the charges and maintained his innocence during the investigation and court proceedings.
The Harrogate man was subsequently convicted of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, assaulting a child under 13, and raping a child under 13.
Yesterday, he was remanded into custody and appeared at the Middlesbrough court for his sentencing.
Clench was sentenced to 15 years in prison by Judge Paul Watson QC for a series of child sexual offences.
Additionally, he was issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was indefinitely listed on the Sex Offenders‘ Register.
