In 2025, a woman was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment at Chester Crown Court after being convicted of sexually assaulting a vulnerable 11-year-old boy in Crewe.

Kirsty Marie Nash, formerly of Stoke-on-Trent and subsequently residing in Crewe, appeared before the court for trial and sentencing after an investigation that spanned nearly four years from initial report to courtroom conclusion.

The prosecution detailed that Nash targeted an 11-year-old boy who was recognized as being particularly vulnerable and in need of safeguarding. The court heard Nash began grooming the child by making inappropriate comments regarding his physical development and body. She then subjected the boy to unlawful sexual touching, molesting his genitals while directing inappropriate comments towards him.

Evidence presented during proceedings revealed further predatory behaviour involving another young child. In a separate incident, Nash exposed her breasts and actively attempted to persuade a nine-year-old boy to engage in physical contact and touch her.

Throughout the protracted legal proceedings, Nash showed a marked absence of remorse, attending court hearings laughing and joking in public areas alongside her partner, who remained supportive of her despite being fully aware of the allegations.

On 4 August 2025, following deliberations at Chester Crown Court, a jury returned a guilty verdict against Nash for sexual assault of a child aged under 13.

The trial judge condemned the sexual exploitation of a vulnerable child who required protection, handing Nash an immediate custodial term of 15 months’ imprisonment.

In addition to the custodial sentence, the court ordered that Nash be made subject to statutory notification requirements on the Sex Offenders Register. Having served the custodial portion of her sentence under statutory release provisions, Nash has since been discharged from prison back into the community.
