A 31-year-old Cambridgeshire man has received an immediate custodial sentence of two years and three months at Cambridge Crown Court after admitting to performing a sexual act on himself in front of a 14-year-old child and carrying out public exposure offences.

Paulius Grabauskas, residing at Eastfield Road, Peterborough, appeared in the dock for sentence on Friday 30 October 2026 having formally entered guilty pleas across an indictment detailing escalating public indecency and sexual behaviour in the presence of a child.

The prosecution outlined that the most serious incident occurred at approximately 9:30am on 17 July. Grabauskas was on active police bail for prior offences when he approached a 14-year-old female child on Derby Drive in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough. Grabauskas produced an intimate device from a bag and used it to perform a sexual act on himself directly in front of the child.

Officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary had previously investigated Grabauskas in connection with two separate public exposure incidents in Peterborough earlier in the year. In April, passengers on a public transit bus alerted police after Grabauskas exposed himself and engaged in inappropriate touching in plain view of other commuters. In June, witnesses reported Grabauskas performing an indecent act concealed within bushes situated in close proximity to a primary school in Orton Goldhay.

At Cambridge Crown Court, Grabauskas formally entered guilty pleas to:

One count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child

Two counts of exposure

Under the provisions of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992, the 14-year-old child victim is protected by mandatory, lifelong statutory anonymity. Any publication, broadcast, or public dissemination of information capable of leading to her identification is strictly prohibited under UK law.

Sentencing Grabauskas, the presiding judge highlighted his repeated public offending, the location near school premises, and the escalation to targeting a child while already on police bail, ordering him to serve an immediate prison sentence of two years and three months.

In addition to the custodial term, the court handed Grabauskas a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) containing strict prohibitions to protect children and the public, and directed that he register with police under the statutory notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.
