In 2024, Michael Commettant, a former school support worker and Lambeth Paedophile from South London, was imprisoned for sexual offences.

After being listed as a wanted person by investigators, Michael Commettant, who worked as a learning behaviour mentor at a South London school, was captured.

After the school reported concerns about his behaviour, authorities sought him out. Michael Commettant was arrested and questioned on Wednesday, May 17, one day after the report was made.

Michael Commettant was charged with having sex with a minor by a person in a position of trust and encouraging a minor to have sex by a person in a position of trust two days after his arrest.

When officers discovered that he had made sexual contact with an adolescent girl, they acted quickly to safeguard her.

Michael Commettant’s digital devices were seized and examined after a search of his home in response to the charges. The detectives discovered that he had tried to hide texts he sent to the victim and had communicated with her via a covert email account.

By studying phone data, detectives quickly created a picture of his criminal activity and discovered the strategies he used to groom the teenager. These showed that he had repeatedly phoned the victim from a hidden number, which was against the safety procedures he had promised to follow in his role at the school.

He did not speak during the questioning; instead, he gave a written statement denying that he had forced the girl to engage in sexual activity.

He was found guilty of all counts in September 2023, and on Wednesday, April 17, Woolwich Crown Court sentenced him to 18 months in prison.
