In 2022, the Offender Register reported that Mark Kerr, a former councillor and paedophile, was jailed for sexual offences against young teenage males.

Today, Friday, December 2, 2022, at the High Court in Paisley, Mark Kerr was sentenced to six years in prison and subsequently placed on the Sexual Offenders Register.

He was convicted of nine charges on November 4, which pertain to offences that occurred in Lanarkshire between May 2012 and May 2020.

Detective Inspector Colin Moffat, of Police Scotland’s National Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “Kerr was in a position of responsibility and trust as a local politician, but he preyed on teenagers, one of whom he met at an official function. He befriended them and betrayed them.”

Police Scotland has left out his current town/city of residence, which is great!
