In 2026, the Offender Register reported that Lawrence Skrzydlo (05/05/1974) of Sycamore Street, Northumberland, was unanimously convicted of two counts of rape and eight counts of indecent assault by a jury at Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday, July 3, 2026.

He was sentenced to 15 years.

Skrzydlo established a trusting relationship with a young girl and her relatives, and he subsequently sexually assaulted and raped her between 1996 and 2000.

In 2021, the survivor courageously reported the abuse to us, revealing that it commenced at approximately seven years of age and persisted for several years while Skrzydlo was in a position of trust and responsibility.

Skrzydlo, a family friend, employed his position to repeatedly assault and violate a young girl in various locations, including the residence she shared with her family.

Despite Skrzydlo’s consistent denial of the offences, the police initiated an investigation into the offender following the survivor’s disclosure. Ultimately, a conviction was obtained.
