In 2018, Mahmoud Morad, a Stoke on Trent Paedophile, was apprehended by a paedophile hunter while attempting to meet an 11-year-old girl after having groomed her online.
The now 37-year-old Egyptian, Mahmoud Morad, encountered the teenager named Chloe online.
He transmitted explicit images to her before his journey from his residence in Stoke-on-Trent to Burton for a meeting.
Upon his arrival, he encountered a faction of paedophile vigilantes and was subsequently apprehended after a violent altercation.
Mahmoud Morad has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
The court was informed that the defendant accessed an adult website named Nearby in November and discovered an individual posting under the alias Chloe Howarth. She asserted that she was 11 years old and provided a photograph as evidence.
Mahmoud Morad requested Chloe to send him private photographs of herself, and he reciprocated by sending explicit images prior to organising a meeting.
The defendant, Mahmoud Morad, with no prior crimes, refuted allegations of attempting to induce or provoke the sexual exploitation of a child; attempting to compel a child to observe a sexual act; and attempting to meet a child after engaging in sexual grooming. He was found guilty of all three crimes during a trial this week.
Michael Edmonds, in defence, stated that the defendant has irrevocably forfeited his good character and that the convictions will yield devastating repercussions.
Mr Edmonds stated that it is improbable he will continue to dwell in this nation in the future.
It is exceedingly challenging for him and his spouse. It will cause her significant distress that he is imprisoned and, most likely, will face deportation.
Judge David Fletcher stated: You travelled with the aim of engaging in penetrative sexual intercourse with a child at some point. There is no evidence to suggest that it would have occurred during your initial encounter.
Sexual images were exchanged. The image given to her was notably explicit regarding its content and was aimed at an 11-year-old youngster.
Your conduct was highly inappropriate. This was not merely imprudent; it constituted criminal behaviour.
You engaged in discussions and chat logs with an individual, and I am certain you believed she was 11 years old, persisting in this behaviour over several days before planning to meet her.
