DNA collected by law enforcement over two decades ago has resulted in the conviction of a former taxi driver, Mahbubur Rahman, the Chadderton Rapist, from Loughborough, for rape.
Mahbubur Rahman has been apprehended following the discovery that his DNA corresponds with a previously unidentified sample obtained from the 2006 incident involving a 19-year-old lady.
The association was established in 2022 following Mahbubur Rahman’s incarceration for an unrelated issue. Notwithstanding the persuasive evidence, he persisted in denying the offence.
On Wednesday, September 3, following a trial at Leicester Crown Court, the 50-year-old resident, Mahbubur Rahman, of Jane Street, Chadderton, Greater Manchester, was found guilty of rape and is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.

On Wednesday, October 29, the 50-year-old resident of Jane Street, Chadderton, Greater Manchester, was condemned after a trial at Leicester Crown Court last month.
