Luke Johnson, aged 36, of Old Park Avenue, Canterbury, Kent, has been sentenced to six years’ imprisonment on Friday, 21 August 2026, after pleading guilty to CSA offences against two children and creating CSAM.
The criminal investigation began after online intelligence alerted investigators to an account uploading CSAM to the internet, which was subsequently traced to Johnson. On Monday, 13 October 2025, Kent Police officers executed a search warrant at a property in Canterbury. During the search, officers seized four mobile phones and a memory card for technical analysis. Johnson was arrested later that day and initially bailed pending examination of the devices.
A detailed forensic review of the seized digital media revealed more than 25 illicit images and video files depicting children. The recovered files established that Johnson had directly subjected two young children to sexual abuse while creating the photographic and video records of the offences.
Detectives re-arrested Johnson on 23 March 2026 on suspicion of sexual assault and taking indecent images of children. He was subsequently charged with four offences and remanded in custody until his appearance in court.
Appearing for sentencing, Johnson admitted the full indictment, pleading guilty to:

The presiding judge sentenced Johnson to six years’ imprisonment. In addition to the custodial term, the court ordered that Johnson serve an extended supervision period of four years on licence following his release, and made him subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for the rest of his life.
