Carl Andrew Stevenson, aged 63, of Pickering, North Yorkshire, has been sentenced to twelve and a half years’ imprisonment at York Crown Court on Thursday, 23 July 2026, after being found guilty of historic CSA offences committed against a teenage girl.
The court heard that the offending took place more than a decade ago on numerous separate occasions. Stevenson targeted the teenage victim by driving her in his vehicle to remote, isolated locations across the area, where he engaged in repeated sexual activity with the child. Throughout the period of abuse, Stevenson maintained control over the victim by callously telling her that if she disclosed the offences to anyone, the authorities would intervene and place her into care, keeping her under constant fear and psychological distress.
The victim made a formal report to North Yorkshire Police in 2022, prompting an investigation into the non-recent abuse. When detectives interviewed Stevenson under caution in June 2022, he denied all allegations and showed no remorse for his actions.
Stevenson pleaded not guilty to the charges, sending the case to a trial at York Crown Court. During the proceedings, the court heard victim impact testimony detailing how the offences caused severe trauma, anxiety, and long-term psychological harm.

The presiding judge sentenced Stevenson to a total custodial sentence of twelve and a half years’ imprisonment.
