Jamie Meakin, aged 36, of Crewe, Cheshire, has been sentenced to seven years and nine months’ imprisonment at Chester Crown Court on Monday, 24 August 2026, after admitting to multiple CSA offences against a young girl and class A drug supply.
The criminal investigation commenced in January 2025 when Cheshire Constabulary received reports that Meakin was engaging in sexual activity with a child in the Crewe area. Detailed inquiries carried out by safeguarding detectives established that the offending had spanned several years, originating when the female victim was only 12 years old. The court heard that Meakin deliberately exploited the young victim’s vulnerability to carry out repeated penetrative sexual assaults.
Meakin was subsequently arrested and remanded in custody. During the investigation, officers executed a search of an address where Meakin had been residing, where they discovered and seized a stash of cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately £760.
Confronted with the evidence gathered by police, Meakin entered guilty pleas to all sexual and drug charges before Chester Crown Court.
Meakin pleaded guilty to:
- One count of assault of a girl by penetration
- Five counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl
- One count of possession with intent to supply a class A drug (cocaine)
The presiding judge handed Meakin a total custodial sentence of seven years and nine months. In addition to the prison term, the court ordered Meakin to sign the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to manage the risk he poses to children following his release from custody.
